Meriden pedestrian-car crash death of Clarence Harkless – Obituary
Clarence Harkless, 58, of New Britain, was the pedestrian who was struck and murdered by a hit-and-run vehicle late on Wednesday night in Meriden.
According to Sgt. Stanley Zajac, police were called to a complaint of a person in the road on Lewis Avenue close to the entrance to MidState Medical Center at 11:35 p.m. on February 1.
A 58-year-old male was discovered unresponsive and lying in the northbound lane of Lewis Avenue at the entrance of the MidState Medical Center, located at 435 Lewis Avenue, according to Zajac.
According to Zajac, the man’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a car.
According to Zajac, the individual was brought to MidState Medical Center where doctors declared him dead.
