A tragic incident unfolded last month in Louisville’s western district, claiming the life of a 16-year-old girl, who has now been identified as Breyasia Walker.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Breyasia Walker met her untimely demise on August 17 in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue, situated near Dixie Highway, close to California Park.

On the day of the unfortunate incident, the Louisville Metro Police responded to a distress call, leading them to the vicinity of 26th Street and Virginia Avenue.

There, they discovered Breyasia Walker, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was subsequently rushed to UofL Hospital, where she valiantly fought for her life for ten days before succumbing to her injuries.
