In a recent development, a tragic incident unfolded in Jersey City on September 1, resulting in the demise of 21-year-old Daniella Rosario from Bloomfield. Gabriel Melo, a 22-year-old resident of Newark, now faces charges related to Death by Auto in connection with the fateful collision.

According to a statement from Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Gabriel Melo was behind the wheel of a 2018 Audi involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer at around 2:15 a.m. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Routes 1 and 9 North ramp on Route 139 West.

Upon arrival at the crash scene, law enforcement found the Audi overturned with extensive damage. All three occupants of the Audi required immediate medical attention and were swiftly transported to Jersey City Medical Center. Tragically, Daniella Rosario was pronounced dead shortly after 2:50 a.m.

Gabriel Melo, who was taken into custody on Thursday, now awaits a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, September 13. During the preliminary investigation, the Jersey City Police Department issued Melo a summons in connection with the incident.
