Fatal New Haven car crash death of Donna Danahey – Obituary

In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, a collision between a semitruck and a van unfolded to the east of New Haven, resulting in three individuals being rushed to the hospital, with one person in critical condition.

Tragically, on Thursday evening, it was confirmed by the authorities that the passenger involved in the crash had succumbed to their injuries. The deceased passenger has been identified as 86-year-old Donna Danahey, a resident of New Haven, according to the Allen County Coroner’s office.

The collision occurred around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Ryan Road and Dawkins Road, which is part of Lincoln Highway East. The accident led to a significant slowdown in traffic in the vicinity that morning, with drivers unable to proceed southbound onto Ryan Road.

Upon investigation, law enforcement determined that the van was traveling eastbound on Dawkins Road, while the semitruck was heading southbound on Ryan Road. An officer present at the scene informed WANE 15 that it appeared the semi had failed to yield at the stop sign.

Both occupants of the van were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. Initially, Donna Danahey was listed in critical condition, while the van’s driver was reported to be in fair condition. The driver of the semitruck also required hospitalization and was in fair condition, according to the police.

The Allen County Coroner conducted an examination and determined that the cause of Donna Danahey’s tragic passing was multiple blunt force injuries, officially ruling it as an accident.
