Fatal Calcasieu Parish car crash death of Jose Samaniego – Obituary
In a tragic incident on Thursday morning at the intersection of LA Hwy 384/ Big Lake Road and W. Tank Farm Road in Calcasieu Parish, two lives were lost in a two-vehicle collision.
Louisiana State Police reported that the crash claimed the lives of 19-year-old Jose Samaniego and 28-year-old Cesar Samaniego, both hailing from Port Arthur, Texas.
Authorities detailed the sequence of events, revealing that a 2015 Kenworth 18-wheeler, operated by 47-year-old Albert Joseph Espree from Beaumont, Texas, was traveling eastbound on W. Tank Farm Road.
Simultaneously, a 2021 Honda Civic was headed south on LA 384, approaching the intersection with W. Tank Farm Road.
Tragically, Espree failed to yield at the stop sign, resulting in a collision as he entered the path of the Honda. The impact of the crash forced both vehicles off the road.
Jose Samaniego, who occupied the front passenger seat, tragically lost his life at the scene, as confirmed by State Police. Cesar Samaniego, seated in the rear, succumbed to his severe injuries after being transported to the hospital.
