A harrowing incident unfolded in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia on Thursday night, prompted by a 911 call that summoned law enforcement to a residence.

Inside the home, situated on the 5700 block of Broomall Street, an 80-year-old individual was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest at approximately 9:49 p.m. Tragically, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The motive behind this distressing incident remains shrouded in uncertainty at this juncture. Nevertheless, the victim has been identified as Rose Goodman.

Rose Goodman had resided in her Broomall Street dwelling for a remarkable five decades, much like many of her fellow neighbors.

Reflecting on her life, a close friend and neighbor, Debbie Jackson, shared, “She was just a pleasant person. She didn’t bother anybody. She was a great neighbor. It’s mostly older people who live on the block. Our safety is compromised right now.”
