Fatal Baton Rouge shooting death of Vernon Mills Jr. – Obituary
In a tragic turn of events, Baton Rouge mourns the loss of Vernon Mills Jr., aged 35, who met his untimely demise during the early hours of Thursday, September 7.
The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) has identified the victim of this dreadful incident, which unfolded in the vicinity of Geronimo Street and Mohican Street in the 3900 block, casting a dark shadow over the community at approximately 5:15 a.m.
Upon receiving the distress call, BRPD swiftly dispatched their officers to the scene, where they encountered a grievous sight – a man, later identified as Vernon Mills Jr., lying motionless on the road, bearing the cruel scars of multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite their valiant efforts, there was no chance of revival, and the victim was tragically pronounced dead right there at the somber scene, leaving friends, family, and the entire Baton Rouge community in mourning.
