Tragedy struck on the Gene Snyder Freeway as John Marshall, a 28-year-old man, met his untimely demise in a devastating wrong-way collision.
The Jefferson County Coroner has confirmed that Marshall succumbed to fatal blunt force injuries in the aftermath of the horrific accident.
This catastrophic incident unfolded at approximately 5 a.m. on a somber Sunday morning, a short distance west of Bardstown Road along the I-265 highway.
Preliminary findings by law enforcement reveal that Marshall was operating his vehicle in an eastward direction within the westbound lanes of traffic.
The dire consequence of this ill-fated choice was a catastrophic head-on collision with a box truck, causing Marshall’s vehicle to erupt into flames.
Tragically, John Marshall’s life was tragically extinguished on the scene, while the driver of the box truck emerged unscathed, miraculously escaping injury.
