Fatal Blount County car crash death of Zyra C. Sharpe – Obituary
A tragic incident unfolded in Blount County as Zyra C. Sharpe, aged 37, lost her life in a devastating car accident, while two teenagers suffered injuries. Alabama State Troopers revealed the identity of the victim.
This heart-wrenching incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, along the winding Old Compton Road, in close proximity to Red Valley Road, roughly four miles south of Remlap. Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey shared the grim details of the accident.
Zyra Sharpe occupied the passenger seat of a 2005 Honda Accord when the vehicle veered off the road, colliding with numerous trees.
Tragically, Zyra was not secured by a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The impact resulted in her being partially ejected from the vehicle, and she was declared deceased at the crash site.
The driver, a 19-year-old named Abel Sharpe, hailing from Center Point, sustained injuries and was transported to the renowned UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical attention.
Additionally, an 18-year-old passenger, whose identity remains undisclosed, received medical care at another healthcare facility.
