Fatal Lewiston motorcycle collision death of Alyssa Slusher – Obituary
Tragedy struck on Sunday in Lewiston as a fatal motorcycle collision claimed the life of Alyssa Slusher, a 24-year-old resident of Lewiston, while her companion, James Weese, 25, hailing from Orofino, sustained critical injuries.
The incident unfolded around 1:20 p.m. within the vicinity of 14th Street and 14th Avenue, as disclosed by the Lewiston Police Department (LPD). Reports from LPD reveal that James Weese, the motorcycle’s operator, lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a parked car.
The force of impact ejected both James Weese and Alyssa Slusher from the motorcycle. Swiftly, emergency response teams rushed to the scene, and with urgency, conveyed them to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Regrettably, Alyssa Slusher succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical care.
Meanwhile, James Weese’s condition necessitated immediate action, and he was airlifted via Life-flight to Spokane for advanced medical attention.
The aftermath of this tragic incident saw 14th Street sealed off to traffic for an extensive period, spanning over three hours, as authorities conducted their investigations.
Notably, both Alyssa Slusher and James Weese were diligently adhering to safety protocols by wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
