Fatal Pecos County car crash death of Jason Keith Richardson – Obituary
Tragic news has emerged from Pecos County, where 58-year-old Jason Keith Richardson, a resident of Alpine, lost his life in a devastating car accident last week. The unfortunate incident occurred on the evening of September 14, and Richardson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
As reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety in their crash report, the incident unfolded at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Along FM 1776, which lies just one mile north of Interstate 10, troopers hurried to the scene, discovering the wreckage of Richardson’s Honda Accord nestled within the eastern barrow ditch.
Upon thorough investigation, it was revealed that Richardson had been traveling southbound on FM 1776 at a speed deemed unsafe for the road’s conditions.
Tragedy struck when he attempted to navigate a curve on the winding roadway, causing his vehicle to veer off the highway. In a desperate attempt to regain control, Richardson “overcorrected” his steering, ultimately leading to a catastrophic rollover of his car.
During this harrowing sequence of events, Richardson was ejected from his vehicle, resulting in the tragic loss of his life.
