Houston, TX – A suspect has faced charges in connection with a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of Tom Louis, 55, and left another individual injured. The incident occurred on September 9 at 4115 Weaver Road around 1:40 p.m.

Rigo Pena, Jr., 27, stands accused of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as per charges filed in the 178th State District Court. A booking photograph of Pena, Jr. accompanies this official statement.

Responding to the scene, Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division Detectives K. Lovelace and M. Hughey reported that HPD patrol officers arrived at the Weaver Road residence after receiving reports of gunfire.

Another man, aged 57, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Preliminary investigations and eyewitness accounts indicate that a verbal altercation ensued between Mr. Louis and an unidentified suspect.

When the suspect attempted to draw a firearm from his waistband, a struggle ensued involving both victims. During the altercation, the firearm discharged multiple times, resulting in injuries to both victims.

The suspect, known only as a Hispanic male using the moniker “Junior,” fled the scene in a maroon four-door pickup truck, the make and model of which remain unknown.
