Fatal New Albany car crash death of Barbara Tucker – Obituary
Tragedy struck on a misty Wednesday morning in New Albany when 70-year-old Barbara Tucker lost her life in a harrowing car accident. New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey reported the incident occurring at the intersection of Charlestown Road and Klerner Lane, shrouded in dense fog at approximately 7:45 a.m.
The Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls, in a news release later that afternoon, described the scene as enveloped in darkness due to the thick fog, which significantly hindered visibility. It was revealed that the accident took place far from the nearest marked pedestrian crossing, adding to the unfortunate circumstances.
Barbara Tucker, a resident of New Albany, succumbed to her injuries shortly after 8 a.m. while being treated at the University of Louisville Hospital, as confirmed by Sgt. Huls. This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers posed by adverse weather conditions on the roads.
