Fatal Ellendale SUV-semi truck collision death of Boston Hagen – Obituary
In a tragic incident on Wednesday morning, an 18-year-old, Boston Hagen, lost his life when he disregarded a stop sign, leading to a harrowing collision between his SUV and a semi-truck on a county road to the northeast of Ellendale. The North Dakota Highway Patrol confirmed the identity of the victim as Boston Hagen, a resident of Fullerton, N.D.
According to state patrol reports, the fatal collision occurred at 8:41 a.m., precisely at the juncture of Dickey County Road 3 and 89th St. SE.
The semi-truck, traveling in an eastward direction on the county road, struck Hagen’s SUV, which was headed south and had failed to adhere to the stop sign at the intersection. Both vehicles veered into the southern ditch following the impact.
Tragically, Boston Hagen, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time, succumbed to the crash. Remarkably, the 61-year-old driver of the semi-truck from Manitoba escaped unscathed.
While no charges are anticipated, the state patrol has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident. In response to the emergency, the Dickey County Sheriff, along with the Oakes Fire, and Ellendale Fire and Ambulance services, promptly converged at the accident site.
