Fatal Aurora Double Stabbing Claims Lives of Desmond Thomas and Otto Washington – Obituary
In a distressing incident in Aurora’s Del Mar Parkway neighborhood, two lives have been tragically cut short, as confirmed by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
The sorrowful episode unfolded on Monday when law enforcement officers were conducting patrols near the 11200 block of East Colfax Avenue around 8 p.m. A concerned individual approached the officers, urgently reporting a man lying in an alley at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Lima Street.
Responding swiftly to the distress call, the Aurora Police Department, as per their press release, discovered the wounded man to be 44-year-old Desmond Thomas. Despite immediate medical attention and transfer to a nearby medical facility, Desmond Thomas succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, another grievous incident occurred in the vicinity, where officers were alerted to a second victim in the 11300 block of East Colfax Avenue. Upon their arrival, they found 58-year-old Otto Washington, who had also fallen victim to a stabbing. Otto Washington was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, but regrettably, he too succumbed to his injuries.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office, in a press release issued on Tuesday, officially identified both victims, confirming that their untimely deaths have been categorized as homicides, casting a somber shadow over the community.
