Fatal Williams Plane Crash Claims Lives of Three Victims – Obituary

In a devastating incident that unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in Williams, three individuals aboard a single-engine aircraft met their untimely demise as the plane crashed shortly after departing from the airstrip.

Lt. John Romero, serving as the spokesperson for the Williams Police Department, relayed that at approximately 12:20 p.m., the department was alerted to a distressing event. It was reported that a Piper Fixed Wing single-engine plane had tragically crashed into a nearby field.

Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted that the ill-fated aircraft had just refueled at H.A. Clark Memorial Airport and taken to the skies. However, moments after takeoff, it became distressingly apparent that the plane had experienced a significant loss of power, leaving it struggling for altitude. In a desperate attempt to return to the airport, the plane veered northward but regrettably plummeted to the ground.

Upon inspection by investigators, it was a harrowing sight, with two individuals discovered lifeless within the confines of the plane, while a third victim lay outside the aircraft. The identities of these unfortunate souls remain undisclosed at this time, as the process of notifying their next of kin is still underway.

As the community grapples with this heart-wrenching incident, both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have initiated inquiries to uncover the circumstances leading to this catastrophic plane crash.
