Fatal Pescadero State Beach cliff crash death of Nicolas Laron Vargas – Obituary

Tragic news has emerged from a cliffside catastrophe at Pescadero State Beach, where a Watsonville resident, Nicolas Laron Vargas, aged 29, lost his life. Vargas, a backseat passenger, met his untimely demise when a Kia, hurtling down Highway 1, careened off the road’s edge, plummeting a staggering 100 feet into the ocean on October 12.

In the wake of the calamity, the Kia found itself partially submerged in the waters, succumbing to the relentless embrace of the high tide, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

The ill-fated vehicle was being operated by Madeline St. Pierre, a 22-year-old hailing from Arcata, California. The clock read 9:55 p.m. when tragedy struck, and the Kia plunged into the depths of the unknown.

Elyse Pickart, a 22-year-old companion of St. Pierre and fellow Arcata native, occupied the front seat during this harrowing incident. Both St. Pierre and Pickart were swiftly transported to Stanford Medical Center, fighting for their survival. Tragically, Nicolas Laron Vargas could not be saved, with San Mateo County Fire paramedics pronouncing his passing at 10:20 p.m.
