Fatal Bennington truck crash death of Pacey Rhame – Obituary
Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning as Pacey Rhame, the operator of a waste disposal vehicle, met a fatal end due to a catastrophic accident near Bennington.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. as Rhame, a 24-year-old from Durant, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 70E. Tragically, he lost control of the garbage truck, veering off the road’s right side. In a desperate attempt to correct the course, the vehicle swerved to the opposite side of the road, ultimately rolling over three times before coming to rest on its passenger side.
The impact of the crash was severe, ejecting Rhame from the cab, where he remained pinned beneath the wreckage for a harrowing ten minutes. Bystanders, displaying commendable bravery, managed to free him from the entrapment, but the injuries proved fatal, and Pacey Rhame was pronounced dead at the somber scene.
Another individual, identified as 20-year-old Logan Lloyd from Calera, was also ejected from the wreckage during this calamitous incident. Remarkably, Lloyd refused medical treatment, adding a testament to the resilience shown during this tragic event.
