Fatal Menasha shooting claims the life of Kenneth Blevens – Obituary

MENASHA, WI — Authorities have unveiled the identities of those involved in a recent Menasha shooting, where tragedy struck earlier this month.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice has disclosed that the victim in this unfortunate incident is 43-year-old Kenneth Blevens. On the fateful day of October 7, Menasha Police and Fox Crossing Police were jointly dispatched to respond to a domestic dispute unfolding in the 1100 block of Geneva Road.

Upon their arrival at the scene, the officers were confronted by a man armed with bladed weapons. In the ensuing confrontation, Menasha Officer Derrick Rotta discharged his firearm, striking Kenneth Blevens. Despite their immediate efforts to save his life, Blevens succumbed to his injuries, and he was declared deceased at the scene.

Officer Rotta, a dedicated four-year veteran of the force, has been placed on administrative leave as the ongoing Department of Justice investigation proceeds. It is worth noting that both Menasha and Fox Crossing officers were equipped with body cameras, providing a record of the incident for the ongoing inquiry.
