Fatal Maple Grove truck crash death of Steven Beugen – Obituary
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has now officially identified the victim of the tragic incident that occurred on October 12, 2023, in Maple Grove. It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Steven Beugen, a 76-year-old resident of the area. This unfortunate event unfolded when his truck collided with a home, resulting in a devastating fire.
On that fateful day, authorities responded swiftly to the scene of the accident, finding Mr. Beugen trapped in his vehicle as it became engulfed in flames upon striking the attached garage of a residence located in the 15100 block of 96th Avenue N.
Brave police officers managed to extricate Beugen from the blazing wreckage, but the fire rapidly consumed both the truck and the garage. Firefighters arrived promptly, successfully bringing the fiery inferno under control.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Mr. Beugen may have experienced a medical emergency before the accident, shedding light on the unfortunate chain of events.
During the incident, it was also reported that two police officers from Maple Grove had to be hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, but they have since recovered and resumed their duties.
