Fatal Long Beach car crash death of Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar – Obituary
A tragic incident unfolded in Long Beach on Saturday evening when a woman, Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar, lost her life in a collision that police now suspect might have been deliberate.
Authorities rushed to the scene at Aquarium Way and Shoreline Drive at 6:34 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles and pedestrians.
Upon their arrival, emergency responders discovered Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar lying in the street, showing signs of being struck by a vehicle, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Despite the efforts of the Long Beach Fire Department personnel who provided immediate medical assistance, Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar could not be saved and tragically succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
The victim, identified as Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar, aged 60 and a resident of Long Beach, was the sister of Juan Cuarenta, who spoke with KTLA. He shared that his sister had dropped by his food truck for dinner, and the family is in profound shock due to this unexpected tragedy.
Juan Cuarenta expressed his grief, saying, “No one expects something like this to happen. What else can I say? She was my sister. I adore her and love her very much, and I’m mourning her death.”
In addition to Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar, five other victims of the potentially intentional crash were transported to nearby hospitals, where authorities reported that they were in stable condition.
